On behalf of its Member businesses, the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce maintains strong working relationships with all elected officials of Delaware County to advocate for a business friendly climate in our region.
As the only Chamber of Commerce in Delaware County, we are widely recognized by our elected officials as the voice for business; providing the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce tremendous clout with our Legislators.
Through the non-partisan Government Affairs Committee; the Chamber tracks proposed legislation, educates the Chamber Membership of pending and enacted laws, establishes open forums for Members and legislators to meet, and drafts white papers in support of pro-business legislation. All Members of the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce are invited to participate in the Government Affairs Committee.
The businesses that comprise the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce face numerous obstacles; such as rapidly rising health-care costs, an overly burdensome tax structure, a costly legal environment, and unfair business practices. Recognizing these challenges, the Government Affairs Committee is responsible for the creation of the Chamber’s Legislative Agenda which serves to educate and inform both the Chamber’s Members as well as the Elected Officials representing the County as to the priorities that will benefit business growth and stability.
