Five Star Hiring provides a unique service to our clients. Our uniqueness is primarily working with student-athletes. For our employer clients, this gives them employees with a minimum of six distinct skills and traits possessed by collegiate athletes. Those traits are Time Management, Teamwork, Hard Working, Resilient, Strong Communicators and Goal Oriented. In the modern business world, these are skills that you must possess in order to succeed in any company and any industry you enter. These are characteristics and traits picked up and instilled in athletes over the years from parents, coaches and mentors. Undeniably, these skills will be a critical asset possessed by our candidates as they transition into the corporate world. This is a major factor in our decision to exclusively work with student-athletes. We firmly believe our candidates will quickly earn us the reputation for placing not only quality employees but employees that are highly productive and motivated.

During my presentation I tell the student athletes a good interview question to ask is: What do you like about your job? The answer can be very telling. If it’s not authentic that could be a 🚩. I remind them you are interviewing them as much as they are interviewing you. It has to be a mutual fit. On Thursday during the Q&A portion a student asked me that exact question. (my message resonated. He listened and applied what I was instructing.) My answer: I LOVE my job. It’s the most rewarding thing by far I have ever done professionally. It’s extremely gratifying mentoring young adults, educating and guiding them through the job search process. Culminating in placing them and launching their professional career. I risked leaving a comfortable job after 25 years. Yes, it’s a struggle, a grind, and a challenge launching your own business. And I wouldn’t change it for the world. I am grateful to every client, school, coach, candidate and student athlete that has trusted me to work with me. It truly is my pleasure to serve you.
